about Cypress Creek Swim Club
Club History
In 1967, a small group of homeowners in the Tower Oaks subdivision purchased a 3.5-acre tract of land on Tower Oaks Boulevard, with the vision of creating a social club. One of the founders was an engineer who helped design the facility, which included a swimming pool, bath house, tennis courts, and a playground. The founders created the original By-Laws and sold memberships to finance the building of the Club and to pay them back for the land. The original name for the club was the Cypress Creek Recreation Association.
In 2023, the facility was broken into and vandalized to the point that we were on the verge of closing the doors. But with a generous donation and many volunteer hours, we rebuilt the club. Part of the rebuilding was also to re-brand and apply to become a 501c3. In January of 2024, we officially changed the name to the Cypress Creek Swim Club. The club is still home of the Barracudas and our mission is still the same, to promote fitness and fellowship through swimming and other activities.
Our Mission & Vision
At Cypress Creek Swim Club, we pride ourselves on being more than just a swim team and social club; we are a dynamic community that has evolved through the years. Despite numerous changes, our unwavering commitment remains: to provide a welcoming space where friends and family can gather, connect, and celebrate the joy of swimming together. Rooted in our rich history, we embrace transformation while cherishing the values that have consistently defined our mission – fostering a sense of belonging, camaraderie, and shared experiences for all who make up our vibrant aquatic family.
Philosophy & Style of Play
At Cypress Creek Swim Club, our Philosophy & Style of Play revolves around the principles of fair play, adherence to rules, and a commitment to equality for all our swimmers and members. We believe in creating an environment where every individual, regardless of skill level or background, feels included and valued. Our philosophy is rooted in the spirit of friendly competition, mutual respect, and the understanding that success is not only measured by performance but by the positive impact we have on each other. Embracing the core values of integrity and sportsmanship, we strive to foster a culture that exemplifies fair play both in and out of the water, ensuring that every member of our aquatic family experiences the joy of swimming in a supportive and equitable community.
